HATTERAS ISLAND BEACH DRIVING

Anyone wanting to take to the beach with their vehicles at Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina will need to pay for a permit and complete a short educational video, based on new rules set to take effect next month.

The National Park Service has finalized the rules, which will begin to be enforced on Feb. 15.

They are designed to allow visitors access to the beach, but in limited numbers, and to protect and preserve the environment of the area.

The exact fee has not yet been set, but according to the National Park Service, people can expect to pay $90-$150 for a yearly permit and $30-$50 for a permit good for a week. The required video is seven minutes long and will be viewable at any of three places: Coquina Beach, Buxton Vistor Center and Ocracoke Visitor Center

2011 Year End in real estate

2011 was amazing! My best year yet. Each year increases in sales! In this market even! Proving the low interest rates and high volume of great deals...it's a GREAT time to buy! Don't do what we all did years ago and say, "If only I had bought a couple of years ago when the prices were lower. They are low now but don't seem to be declining much more. Call me and I will find a beach home you've been waiting for. 252.207.1147 or visit my website.

God Bless!
